Minutes of the OVH Club Meeting
July 17, 2006
John / KG4NXT called meeting to order at 2000 Eastern
Time.
Following
the Pledge of Allegiance, all
presented stated their names and call signs.
There were 22 OVH members
present.
PROGRAM
Bob Laine with the National Park Service – Bob works as a volunteer at the Manassas National Battlefield Park. He regularly gives historical overviews of
the 1st and 2nd
Battles of
Ron Paine / WA6YOU gave a presentation on
connectors. Ron demonstrated the
installation of several types of connectors and gave recommendations on
products to use. Ron’s skills at
installing connectors quickly, and also making them look as if they were
produced in a high-tech factory, were very impressive to all present at the
meeting. Thank you Ron
for your very interesting presentation.
BUSINESS MEETING
John / KG4NXT noted that the latest QST has an
article regarding the work that the OVH has done regarding BPL.
John / KG4NXT noted that over $300 was collected
from the OVH Hamfest bake
John / KG4NXT moved that we reserve the
MINUTES: The minutes from the June 2006 OVH meeting were approved.
TREASUERER’S REPORT: The Treasurer’s report was
presented by Bill / N3OH.
MEMBERSHIP: Joe / KI4OHR - Four new members of OVH were voted in, all by unanimous votes: Judith Grass / KE4IUJ, Michael O’Dell /
N4NLN, Gary Gilham / WG4ARC, and Patricia Gilham / KI4FQF.

WEBSITE: Bill / N3OH
– There are some problems with the website, and Bill is working with the vendor
to resolve the issue. Bill is moving so
his packet node is down, but other packet nodes are still working.
John / KG4NXT noted that David / KI4AZX will chair the Tri-It-Now
Triathlon.
Bill / N3OH noted that the OVH Special Event will take place on
August 26 on the
SUNSHINE: Steve / N4OGR – Steve noted that we received a thank you note from Mattie Parrish
thanking OVH for our condolences.
Steve / N4OGR noted that National Night Out will take place on July 29. It will take place at the
50/50: Butch / W4HJL won the 50/50 raffle. $37 was
collected, and Butch donated his winnings back to the Club.
The
meeting adjourned at 2130 Eastern time.
